By approaching the design of our properties with a human-centred approach, we are supporting the health and wellbeing of our customers. We continue to evolve our designs to create spaces that encourage wellbeing, including places for – socialising, exercising, eating and more. We also include human-centred design features such as maximising natural light and integrating nature where possible.

By creating shared spaces that surrounding neighbourhoods can use and enjoy, we want to rethink the idea that logistics and data centre hubs can provide only employment to their communities. From sports facilities, parks and vegetable gardens to restaurants and parking garages, we collaborate with local municipalities to discover the needs of their citizens. Additionally, we carefully consider the visual design of our infrastructure so that it integrates well into the landscape and community.

We’re working to make our properties more sustainable – but just don’t take our word for it. All our new developments are externally certified, with BREEAM Excellent as the minimum standard, and aiming at LEED Platinum for our data centres. We also guarantee they align with EU Taxonomy (building construction). Additionally, all our existing buildings hold a relevant certification and we monitor the alignment of our existing portfolio against EU taxonomy (building usage) and the Paris Agreement objectives.

Finally, collaboration across the value chain is essential to achieving our sustainability ambitions and that of our customers. That’s why we form partnerships with key suppliers and actively involve our customers in sustainability discussions. For instance, we have introduced green clauses in our lease agreements where have a shared responsibility with our customers to implement and adhere to sustainable practices in the operation, maintenance and management of the property. This initiative is a first step towards engaging with our customers on sustainability and further reducing operational emissions in our buildings.
