At the 2015 transport logistic trade fair in Munich, Goodman and Logwin Solutions Deutschland GmbH announced the signing of a pre-lease agreement for a new 15,000 sqm logistics warehouse in Schwäbisch Gmünd, near Stuttgart. Goodman will invest €12 million in the project, scheduled for completion in November 2015, that will be used by Logwin to service its customer in the automotive sector.
The new pre-lease agreement not only demonstrates Goodman’s extensive experience in providing solutions for customers in the transport and logistics sector, but bolsters its relationship with Logwin. Goodman is currently constructing a 22,500 sqm facility in Mönchengladbach
for Logwin and Vetten to service a customer in the fashion industry.
“The new facility will allow us to use the last generation of logistics technology,” said Marcus Cebulla, Member of Executive Board, Logwin Solutions. “We selected Goodman for this project as their customer-centric approach to property development mirrors our own service philosophy, which is underpinned by formidable technical expertise.”
The facility is designed for Logwin to service a long-time customer in the automotive industry. Goodman brings a wealth of experience in developing logistics space for the automotive sector, having developed nearly 350,000 sqm in Europe alone. The new logistics facility will be comprised of 13,000 sqm of warehousing space, 1,000 sqm of office and social space as well as a 500 sqm canopy and a 500 sqm open depot. Processes within the new warehouse will be facilitated by automated guided vehicles (AGV), moving goods to several work stations to prepare steering systems for national and international distribution.
On completion, the building will receive a silver certification by the German Sustainable Building Council as part of Goodman’s master plan for pre-certification. The property will be equipped with several sustainability features such as LED lighting in the warehouse and insulated dark tube radiators to preserve natural resources.
