Goodman and the Mönchengladbach development agency, Wirtschaftsförderung Mönchengladbach GmbH (WFMG), announce the development of a new 22,500 sqm logistics property at the Regiopark business park for logistics service provider Logwin and Vetten. The new facility is being developed on a site with a total area of around 65,000 sqm and will be tailored to meet Logwin and Vetten’s specific business needs in the fashion and lifestyle sector. Goodman’s investment amounts to approximately €20 million for the entire project.
The sale of the land on the urban site located directly on the A61 motorway was handled through WFMG. Construction work has already begun and is scheduled for completion in June 2015. According to current planning, this move will create at least 150 new jobs in the short-term at the Mönchengladbach logistics location. Moreover, Logwin and Vetten maintain around 100 jobs at its existing logistics centre in Mönchengladbach Wickrath.
Build-to-suit property for fashion logistics
Goodman is delivering a tailor-made development to facilitate the expansion of Logwin and Vetten’s business, comprising 21,000 sqm of warehouse space and 1,500 sqm for offices and social areas. To ensure the rapid processing of goods, a total of 78 loading gates will be available, which is four times as many as in comparable logistics properties. The sustainable design of the new development at Regiopark is demonstrated by the LED lighting being installed throughout the entire warehouse area. Following completion, the building is set to be awarded a silver certificate by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
This new facility for Logwin and Vetten sees Goodman increase its presence at Regiopark, having previously developed a nearby logistics centre for Zalando, while also including the Esprit warehouse in its portfolio.
International logistics hub
Regiopark is an inter-municipal business area of the city of Mönchengladbach and the town of Jüchen It has become an established international logistics hub thanks to its strategic geographic location and excellent transport links. Together with the neighbouring business park in Güdderath, Regiopark forms the largest interconnected industrial zone in Mönchengladbach.
In addition to Logwin and Vetten, global players such as Federal Express, Nippon Express Deutschland, Raben Logistics, e-retailer Zalando, the international lifestyle brand Esprit and its service provider Fiege, as well as DHL and its customer Primemark are currently located at the logistics hub.
